International HERITEX-HUB Workshop «Textile Heritage Research and the Future»

On the 20th and 21st of March the Faculty of Archaeology of the University of Warsaw hosted the very first HERITEX-HUB meeting, the International HERITEX-HUB Workshop «Textile Heritage Research and the Future. Reflecting on the Role of Historical Textiles for Society, Economy, and Sustainability».
This is the first in a series of events throughout the year which aim to open a dialogue with the potential stakeholders and partners of the knowledge up to be set up through the HERITEX-HUB COST Innovators Grant. On this occasion, the workshop brought together, both in Warsaw and online, the representatives of many key institutions and groups dealing with Textile Heritage research.
Participants presented their research institutions and their approach to Textile Heritage, and exchanged on how they see the future development of this field in a series of encompassing and informative presentations. The programme was completed with working round tables in which the participants discussed how to amplify the impact of Textile Heritage research and worked together to set the grounds for a White Paper on the Future of Textile Heritage Research, now in progress.
